My Thoughts
This book was the first book I read in 2024, and it was such a wonderful way to start the new year. "Tress of the Emerald Sea" was a sweet cozy fantasy filled with characters to love and a world to adventure through. Normally I am always skeptical whenever a book is compared to a really popular movie or another book, because I feel even though the book may be good it never feels like what it was compared to. Sanderson had said that this book was inspired by "The Princess Bride" and it truly was. It had very little to do with the actual plot of the story, but this book managed to give me the same sweet and exciting fairy tale vibes I always got from watching "The Princess Bride".
